The ISC2 Alberta Chapter AGM is happening on April 9th, 2026. The following board positions are open and offer an exciting opportunity to shape Alberta’s cybersecurity community and contribute at a leadership level.

All positions require:
Attendance at one one-hour board meeting per month
Active participation on at least one subcommittee, working with our members to achieve results
Capacity to work with our members and Board members 6 hours per month, minimum
Alberta residency - Required

Keeps the board running administratively. You'll own meeting logistics, minutes, and official chapter records
Responsibilities
Plan, organize, and facilitate monthly board meetings - agendas prepared and distributed in advance
Record and distribute accurate minutes for all board and general meetings
Maintain all official corporate and board records
Manage official chapter correspondence and ISC2 HQ communications
What We're Looking For
3+ years in a corporate or non-profit administrative role
Exceptional organization and follow-through
Strong written communication skills
Google Workspace experience is an asset
ISC2 certification: This is a senior ISC2 Alberta position and ISC2 certification is required
>>> Membership Chair
You're at the front door of the chapter. You'll own the member experience from first contact through ongoing engagement.
Responsibilities
Primary point of contact for all member inquiries
Own onboarding for new members and offboarding processes
Maintain accurate membership records and monthly reporting to the board
Coordinate CPE tracking and submission for members
Collaborate with the Communications Director on member-facing content
Identify and recommend retention and growth opportunities
What We're Looking For
3+ years in membership, community, or stakeholder management
Connected within Alberta's technology or security community
Highly organized, self-motivated, able to manage multiple priorities
Google Workspace experience is an asset
ISC2 certification: This is a senior ISC2 Alberta position and ISC2 certification is required
>>> Communications Director
You're the chapter's public voice. You'll manage our social media, Squarespace website and make sure members and the broader Alberta security community stay informed and engaged though our public mailing list.
Responsibilities
Oversee the monthly member newsletter and social media posting
Manage and maintain isc2alberta.ca
Develop and maintain a consistent chapter brand and communications voice
Collaborate with the Events Director to promote chapter events
Monitor engagement and recommend improvements
What We're Looking For
Squarespace experience is an asset
3+ years in website management and social media
Strong written communication skills with a professional eye
Familiarity with email marketing platforms and content scheduling tools
Technical IT background is an asset but Communications is the focus!
ISC2 certification: Not required
>>> Events Director
This is a high-energy, execution-heavy role. The 2026–27 focus is in-person programming. You need to be well-networked, able to attract speakers and sponsors, and experienced in planning events from concept to delivery. The Board of Directors is here to help you succeed, as is our army of ISC2 Alberta members!
Responsibilities
Plan and execute a minimum of two minor (afternoon/lunch) events and one major day long event
Identify, recruit, and manage speakers, sponsors, and venue partners
Coordinate all event logistics: registration, promotion, and post-event reporting
Identify partnership opportunities with industry groups and other ISC2 chapters
Collaborate with the Communications Director to promote events
What We're Looking For
5+ years planning and executing in-person professional events
An active, established network in Alberta's technology and security community
Proven ability to secure speakers and sponsors
Experience with Eventbrite or similar platforms
Google Workspace experience is an asset
ISC2 certification: Not required
>>> Director at Large
We're filling several Director at Large positions. Bring your expertise and your network. Lead or support subcommittees, represent the chapter at events, and help us deliver on our mission.
Responsibilities
Support strategic initiatives and board goals
Lead or actively contribute to at least one subcommittee
Represent ISC2 Alberta at events across the province
Leverage your professional relationships to benefit chapter programs, events, and partnerships
What We're Looking For
5+ years experience in a professional setting
Self-motivated with demonstrated ability to deliver on commitments
Google Workspace experience is an asset
ISC2 certification: Not required
